Bachelor's in Early Childhood/Special Education from the University of Alabama

My experience has been an interesting one to say the least. My husband's work took us to many interesting places. I have worked in an alternative school setting for two years in west Alabama. From there, my family moved to West Texas, where I taught in a special education classroom for one year. My husband's job once again relocated us back to Alabama. I served two years in Jefferson County as a preschool/special education teacher. We moved once again to North Alabama, where I currently plan to stay. I am a special education teacher here at Mill Creek. Our class is composed of typically developing peers as well as special needs children. It is a wonderful model, and it works very well. My husband has taken a new job that keeps our family more stationery, and for this I am thankful. This is my second year at Mill Creek, and I absolutely love it. There is such a positive energy in this school. It is amazing!

Hello! My name is Rachel Donaldson. I am from Decatur, AL, but have lived in various parts of the country exploring teaching opportunities. I have a Bachelor's in Early Childhood/Special Education from the University of Alabama. I speak Spanish, and thoroughly enjoy learning about different cultures and people all around the world. My husband and I have five children together, ranging in ages from 23 to 5 years of age. My hobbies are cooking, hiking, practicing foreign languages, reading, and playing with our cat. My philosophy is that learning should be a lifelong journey, taht is always fun and exciting. Every human is capable of different talents and learns through different methods. I believe the curriculum should be presented so that all children have access to the tools they need for growth. I am looking forward to a wonderful year.
